Adiponectin displays cardioprotective qualities

"Obesity-related disorders are closely associated with the pathogenesis of cardiovascular disease. Adiponectin is a circulating adipose tissue-derived hormone that is downregulated in obese individuals," scientists in the United States report in their review.
