New research, 'Changes in serum levels of IGF-1 and in growth following adenotonsillectomy in children,' is the subject of a report. According to recent research published in the International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, "Adenotonsillar hypertrophy can cause upper airway obstruction and may be associated with growth delay in children. The objective of this study was to evaluate the long-term effects of adenotonsillectomy on height, weight, and body mass index (BMI) in children with sleep-disordered breathing (SDB)."
