Hospital accused of overcharging uninsured

A lawsuit similar to suits against 400 other hospitals nationwide accuses Tift Regional Medical Center (TRMC) of charging uninsured patients more than those with insurance and using aggressive techniques to collect unpaid bills. The suit was filed in Superior Court by Albany attorney Robert M. Beauchamp on behalf of Katrina A. Clark. Georgia nonprofit hospitals including the Medical College of Georgia, WellStar Health System in Atlanta, the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, Athens Regional Medical Center, DeKalb Regional Medical Center, South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta and Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville face similar...
