Savient Pharmaceuticals Reports First Quarter 2008 Financial Results

Savient Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:SVNT) reported financial results for the three months ended March 31, 2008. The net loss for the first quarter of 2008 was $17.6 million or $0.33 per share on total revenues of $1.2 million, compared with a net loss of $7.8 million or $0.15 per share on total revenues of $6.4 million for the same period in 2007. The company ended the quarter with $129.1 million in cash and short and long-term investments.
