Elevated Golgi pH linked to T-antigen expression in cancer cells

Elevated Golgi pH in breast and colorectal cancer cells was linked to expression of oncofetal Thomsen-Friedenreich (T)-antigen. According to recent research published in the Journal of Cellular Physiology, "Altered glycosylation has turned out to be a universal feature of cancer cells, and in many cases, to correlate with altered expression or localization of relevant glycosyltransferases.
