Findings from Cancer Institute advance knowledge in cancer therapy

Research findings, 'Stage-specific therapy for cancer of the oesophagus: a new 'cancer of the elderly',' are discussed in a new report. According to recent research from the United States, "Oesophageal and gastric cancers are amongst the most frequent and lethal of cancers worldwide. In the US alone, some 13 000 individuals are affected each year, and mortality is particularly high in elderly patients with advanced stage disease and multiple co-morbidities."
