2012 MAR 26 -- New research, "Laparoscopic colorectal surgery in urgent and emergent settings," is the subject of a report. "Laparoscopic colectomy (LC) is slowly becoming the standard of care for elective resections. The use of LC in the emergency setting is relatively unstudied," scientists in Rome, Italy report.
