2012 MAR 26 -- Researchers detail in "Distal pancreatectomy (with video)," new data in Pancreas. According to the authors of recent research published in the Journal of Hepato-biliary-pancreatic Sciences, "Distal pancreatectomy is indicated for lesions in the pancreatic body and tail. Understanding of the anatomical structure of the pancreas and its surroundings is required in various situations in left upper abdominal surgery including the laparoscopic approach."
