Transfected Cells Stimulate Protective Antitumor Immunity

Researchers from Colorado State University demonstrate that allogeneic, as well as syngeneic, transfected MHC class II Ag⁺ tumor cells can stimulate protective antitumor immunity in a murine model.

Dana R. Leach and Gerald N. Callahan note that most tumor cells express MHC class I, but not class II molecules, and therefore do not stimulate a cellular immune response in the host.
