"Efficient Transduction of CD34+ Cells with an Anti-HIV-1 Ribozyme-Bearing Retroviral Vector."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 36th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology, held December 2-6, 1994, in Nashville, Tennessee, "Previous experiments have demonstrated an efficient gene transfer of neomycin phosphotransferase (neo) in LNL-6 vector into blood-derived CD34+ cells mobilized by growth factors. Even though the transgene can be found by DNA PCR in 67-100% cells with clonogenic activity, only about 10% of the colonies were positive for gene expression as determined by RNA PCR.
