"Construction, Purification, and Functional Reconstitution on Tumor Cells of a Glycolipid Anchored B7-1 Molecule: A Novel Alternative to Gene Transfection in Human Immunotherapy."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 86th Annual Meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research, held March 18-22, 1995, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, "Expression of B7-1, by transfection into tumor cells, induces tumor immunity in mice and is being considered as a method for tumor immunotherapy. However, transfection of foreign DNA is neither efficient nor desirable in human clinical settings. We have studied an alternative method to introduce B7-1 onto the surface of tumor cells.
