Previous researchers have established animal models to test cancer vaccines utilizing mostly protection type experiments or testing against very small established local tumors. Very little has actually been done to simulate a real life human clinical situation where the patient presents with an established tumor, undergoes surgical resection, and then fights a metastatic disease.
