"Prostate Specific Gene Therapy Using a Novel PSA Promoter: In Vivo Studies."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 91st Annual Meeting of the American Urological Association, held May 4-9, 1996, in Orlando, Florida, "The requirements for successful gene therapy are a highly efficient delivery system as well as tissue specific expression of a therapeutic gene in target cells. We have identified a unique 620 bp prostate specific antigen (PSA) promoter in our laboratory that is different to other PSA promoters published in the Genbank. Moreover, this novel PSA promoter (PSA-P) was shown to exhibit tissue specific expression in in vitro studies (Human Gene Therapy, in press).
