Ovarian Carcinoma Sensitive to Gene Therapy Approaches

The susceptibility of ovarian carcinoma to combination therapies and gene therapy was the subject of intense scrutiny at the American Association for Cancer Research conference, held April 12-16, 1997, in San Diego, California.

Ovarian carcinoma has an extremely low five year survival rate. This is due largely to the advanced state of the disease in most women at the time of diagnosis. Unfortunately, there are not any early diagnostic tests currently available; new and more effective treatment protocols are desperately needed.
