Lymph nodes (LN) draining from a progressively growing tumor contain specifically sensitized T lymphocytes. Harvesting these lymphocytes, and then activating and expanding them in vitro with anti-CD3 and IL-2 before injecting them into sublethally irradiated tumor-bearing mice yields an adoptive immunotherapeutic effect.
