Transduced Dendritic Cells Stimulate Immune Response

Canadian researchers optimized the induction of antitumor immunity by enhancing the ability of dendritic cells (DCs) to present tumor-associated antigens (TAA) endogenously via ex vivo adenoviral-mediated transduction of the DCs before administration.

DCs are extremely potent antigen presenting cells (APCs). They have the capacity to acquire and process antigens, to migrate to lymphoid organs, and to stimulate antigen-specific T cells to proliferate.
