Certain Oligodeoxynucleotides Show Promise as Vaccine Adjuvants

Oligodeoxynucleotides (ODN) containing the bacterial CpG motif show promise as highly effective immune adjuvants for cancer vaccines.

Research has shown that immunostimulatory ODN containing the CpG motif (CpG ODN) can induce production of a wide variety of cytokines as well as activating B cells, monocytes, dendritic cells, and natural killer (NK) cells.
