Antisense Oligonucleotides Tested For Prostate Cancer Therapy

The antiproliferative effects of c-myc antisense oligonucleotides in both androgen-dependent and -independent prostate cancer cell lines suggests antisense therapy has a place in the clinical arsenal against prostate cancer.

c-myc is a protooncogene which plays a central role in cell proliferation and differentiation. Overexpression of c-myc has been documented in several malignant cell lines including prostate cancer.
