According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the Cancer Symposium, jointly sponsored by Society of Surgical Oncology and the World Federation of Surgical Oncology Societies, held March 26-29, 1998, in San Diego, California, "Introduction: Dendritic cells (DCs) arc the most potent professional antigen presenting cells (APCs). T cell immunity is important in tumor rejection and DCs are capable of stimulating naive T cells.
