"Adoptive Immunotherapy of Nonimmunogenic Tumor with T Lymphocytes Generated from Gene-Modified Tumor-Primed Lymph Node."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 89th Annual Meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research, held March 28 - April 1, 1998, in New Orleans, Louisiana, "We previously demonstrated that genetically modified weakly immunogenic MCA205 tumor cells to secrete IL-2 or IL-4 can enhance the generation of precursor cells which can develop into potent antitumor effector cells and subsequently enhance antitumor reactivity of adoptive immunotherapy. In contrast, transfection of these cytokines into poorly immunogenic or nonimmunogenic tumor cells failed to enhance such host immune reaction.
