"Skin Transplantation: Prevention of Graft Rejection by Downregulating the MHCI Surface Expression in Primary Keratinocytes."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 6th Symposium on Gene Therapy: Towards Gene Therapeutics, held May 4-6, 1998, at the Max Delbruck Center for Molecular Medicine, Berlin-Buch, Germany, "In order to generate non-immunogeneic and therefore transplantable skin sheets anti-human (8KsFv) and anti-rat MHC I (Ox18sFv, Ox18Fab) intrabodies were constructed. Successful applications using intrabodies to retained surface molecules inside the cell include constructs against the human IL-2R, HIV gp120 and the oncogene erbB-2.
