According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 6th Symposium on Gene Therapy: Towards Gene Therapeutics, held May 4-6, 1998, at the Max Delbruck Center for Molecular Medicine, Berlin-Buch, Germany, "IL-4, IL-10 and TGFb1 are cytokines with potential immunodeviation and antiinflammatory properties but the in vivo effects of these cytokines on the immune system and different parenchymal cells are still poorly defined. Recombinant adenoviruses (Ad) are powerful vectors for organ-localized expression of cytokines . We constructed Ad containing the cDNAs of rat IL-4, rat IL-10 or TGFb1.
