Immuno/Gene Therapy of Colorectal Cancer Reaches the Clinical Trial Stage

Early results from a clinical trial of a T cell gene therapy for colorectal cancer are promising.

K.M. Hege, representing colleagues from Cell Genesys, the University of California, and Stanford University, California, explained the process leading to the induction of clinical trials of a gene therapy designed around autologous T cells for colorectal cancer, at the 34th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, held May 16-19, 1998, in Los Angeles, California (abstract "T Cell Gene Therapy of Colorectal Cancer with Autologous CC49-Zeta Gene-Modified CD4 and CD8 T Cells").
