They said cancers linked to the BRCA2 gene were many times more sensitive to certain cancer drugs and to radiation than other types of cancer.
Writing in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, the researchers said this could mean that some types of genetic screening could tell doctors not only who might be at the worst risk of cancer, but which treatment might work best.
