IL-17 Stimulates Granulopoiesis in Mice

Interleukin-17 (IL-17) may have therapeutic potential for the treatment of AIDS-related bone marrow failure.

IL-17 is a novel cytokine that is secreted primarily by CD4+ T cells. Research has demonstrated that IL-17 supports the growth of hemopoietic progenitors in vitro, however, its in vivo effects are not well known.
