"Phase I Study of Adenovirus Mediated HSV-TK Gene Therapy Followed by Concomitant Chemotherapy with Topotecan After Optimal Debulking Surgery for Recurrent Ovarian Cancer."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 35th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, held May 15-18, 1999, in Atlanta, Georgia, "This is a U.S. Food and Drug Adminsitration (FDA)-approved Phase I study. The replication-defective recombinant adenovirus containing the herpes simplex virus thymidine kinase gene was delivered into the peritoneal cavity of patients with recurrent ovarian cancer (OV-CA) after optimal tumor debulking followed by concomitant administration of acyclovir (ACV) and topotecan (TP).
