CT Scans Used to Evaluated Lung Cancer Responses to Therapy

Chest CT scans of lung tumors undergoing gene therapy that progress will show an increase in size, researchers from the United States reported.

"Adenoviral mediated transfer of wild type p53 into lung cancer cells is a new treatment technique that is undergoing investigation," wrote R. F. Munden and colleagues from Houston, Texas. "Chest CT exams are utilized to assess for tumor response. The purpose of this study is to describe the CT appearance of tumors undergoing this new treatment."
