Gene Therapy Arrests Tumor Growth, Induces Apoptosis

Titan Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (TTP), announced results of a preclinical study that demonstrated effectiveness of Titan's RB94 cancer therapy in the treatment of an animal model of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC).

Data from this study demonstrated that RB94 caused growth arrest and induced apoptotic death in human tumor cells.

Additionally, the mechanisms of anti-tumor activity demonstrated by RB94 in these studies suggest potential for synergy with chemotherapy and radiation therapy in the treatment of cancer.
