New Lentiviral Vectors Allow Specific Targeting, Regulation Of Gene Expression In Tumors, Other Tissues

Development of a new lentiviral vector design that significantly improved gene transfer performance was reported at the 101st General Meeting of the American Society for Microbiology, held May 20-24, 2001, in Orlando, Florida.

Luigi Naldini, University of Torino Medical School, Italy, and colleagues also reported that they further engineered the vectors and explored several delivery strategies to achieve targeting and exogenous regulation of transgene expression in relevant tissues for gene therapy applications.
