CRYO-CELL announces acquisition by affiliate, CRYO-CELL Europe

Cryo-Cell International, Inc. (CCEL) announced that its affiliate, Cryo-Cell Europe, N.V., Zutphen, the Netherlands has completed the acquisition of MainGen GmbH from Asta Medica AG, a subsidiary of Degussa AG.

MainGen, located in Frankfurt, Germany, is a licensed GMP clean room facility that specializes in the processing, preparation, and expansion of adult stem cells from cord blood and bone marrow for clinical applications in university and research hospitals. In addition, MainGen has developed techniques for in vitro transduction of CD-34 cells for use in gene therapy. CRYO-CELL Europe intends to redesign the MainGen facility to increase the capacity of cord blood...
