Human foamy virus integrase doesn't work in hybrid vector

Researchers report that in their experiments, human foamy virus integrase was unable to integrate a circular molecule containing a long terminal repeat junction, ruling the method out as a way to make hybrid vectors for gene therapies.

"The presence of closed circular forms of the linear DNA genome of human foamy virus (HFV) has not been established," said R. Russell and colleagues, University of London, Imperial College of Science, Technology, & Medicine, St. Mary's Hospital.
