According to a study from Germany, "iontophoresis may be a potentially useful technique for the delivery of oligonucleotides into the skin. To enhance intracellular uptake during iontophoresis, we investigated the dermal delivery of oligodeoxynucleotides (ODN) as a polyelectrolyte complex with polyethylenimine (PEI)."
