Unique method developed for function-based identification of genes

Quark Biotech, Inc. announced the publication of the Achilles' Heel Method, a unique method for the direct high throughput identification of genes mediating specific cellular functions.

The method was developed in collaboration with Dr. Louis Deiss of the University of Illinois at Chicago. Quark Biotech holds the patent to this method, and to one of its variants that forms the basis of BiFAR, Quark's core technology platform.

The findings from this study and a description of the innovative methodology were published in the March 2003 issue of Oncogene.
