Genetically altered mice predict toxicity for individual targeted cancer therapy

Genetically engineered mouse models can be used to predict toxicity in individuals treated with targeted cancer therapies.

"Current trends foretell the use of cancer treatments customized to each patient. Genetic and molecular profiling of tumors and an increasing number of molecule-targeted therapies contribute to making this a reality," wrote scientists at the University of North Carolina.
