"Oxidative stress has been implicated in the propagation of acute liver injury. The aim of our study was to investigate whether gene transfer of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH), a potent anti-inflammatory peptide, could prevent fulminant hepatic failure in mice.
