Study 1: Continued delivery of glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) may optimize neural transplantation therapy, report researchers at Wallenberg Neuroscience Center.
Y.H. Ahn and associates reported, "We investigated whether a continuous supply of GDNF via encapsulated genetically modified cells can promote survival and fiber outgrowth from xenotransplanted human dopaminergic neurons."
