Published in Gene Therapy Weekly, May 25th, 2006

A recent study from the United States has reported that induced apoptosis protection of INS-1 cells is conferred by mitochondria targeting.

Previously, we reported that FFAs caused increased nitric oxide (NO) production, which damaged mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) and ultimately led to apoptosis in INS-1 cells," wrote L.I. Rachek and colleagues, University of Southern Alabama.
