Researchers' findings from the United States, Singapore and South Korea advance genetics research

Investigators in the United States, Singapore and South Korea have published new genetics data.

Study 1: According to recently published research from the United States, a Prospero-related homeodomain protein is a novel co-regulator of hepatocyte nuclear factor 4 alpha that regulates the cholesterol 7 alpha-hydroxylase (CYP7A1) gene.

"Prox1, an early specific marker for developing liver and pancreas in foregut endoderm, has recently been shown to interact with alpha-fetoprotein transcription factor and repress CYP7A1 gene transcription," wrote K.H. Song and colleagues, Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine.
