Researchers from the United States and Switzerland provide details of new studies and findings in the area of neurology

New findings from the United States and Switzerland describe advances in neurology.

Study 1: A study from the United States has documented that in vivo restoration of physiological levels of truncated TrkB.T1 receptor rescues neuronal cell death in a trisomic mouse model.

"Imbalances in neurotrophins or their high-affinity Trk receptors have long been reported in neurodegenerative diseases. However, a molecular link between these gene products and neuronal cell death has not been established," wrote S.G. Dorsey and colleagues, National Cancer Institute.
