Investigators at Queen Mary Hospital zero in on cancer gene therapy

New investigation results, "Aberrant gene methylation implicated in the progression of monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance to multiple myeloma," are detailed in a study published in Journal of Clinical Pathology. "Malignant transformation is a multistep process that may involve dysregulation of oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes, and monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) is believed to be a precursor of multiple myeloma," scientists writing in the Journal of Clinical Pathology report.
