New gene therapy data have been reported by scientists at Ruprecht-Karls University, Department of Neurosurgery

Fresh data on gene are presented in the report "A new method for superselective middle cerebral artery infusion in the rat." According to recent research from Mannheim, Germany, "OBJECT: Selective intraarterial drug delivery is used to achieve enhanced local uptake with reduced systemic side effects. In the present paper the authors describe and characterize a new microcatheter-based model of superselective perfusion of the middle cerebral artery (MCA) in rats combined with blockade of blood flow through the MCA."
