"Cytochrome P450 2E1 (CYP2E1) is clinically and toxicologically important and exhibits 24-hoar periodicity in its activity. In the present study, we investigated whether hepatic nuclear factor-1 alpha (HNF-1 alpha) and clock genes with a striking 24-hour rhythm in mouse liver contributed to the 24-hour regulation of CYP2E1 expression," scientists writing in the journal Hepatology report.
