Studies conducted at University of Western Ontario, Department of Surgery on gene therapy recently published

A report, 'siRNA specific delivery system for targeting dendritic cells,' is newly published data in Methods In Molecular Biology. "siRNA therapy offers immense potential for clinical application. Under physiological conditions, however, siRNA was demonstrated to have a short half-life," scientists writing in the journal Methods In Molecular Biology report.

"Additionally, it may also cause ubiquitous gene silencing as it does not possess a tissue-specific homing mechanism.
