Recent Findings from Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Biosciences Division Highlight Research in Cancer Gene Therapy

2011 JAN 27 -- New research, 'Disseminated and circulating tumor cells: Role in effective cancer management,' is the subject of a report. "Dissemination of tumor cells from primary tumors in the circulatory system is an early event in carcinogenesis. The presence of these single disseminated tumor cells (DTC) in peripheral blood, bone marrow and distant organs is the rationale for adjuvant systemic treatment," researchers in the United States report.
