2012 JAN 12 -- According to the authors of a study from Boston, Massachusetts, "Caveolar raft domains, also termed caveolae, are flask shaped invaginations that require the expression of the structural protein caveolin-1 (cav-1). Matrix metalloproteinase 1 (MMP-1) is a collagenase capable of degrading insoluble triple helical collagens."
