Research from Tongji University Has Provided New Information about Stem Cell Research

2012 MAR 8 -- A new study, "Repairing critical-sized calvarial defects with BMSCs modified by a constitutively active form of hypoxia-inducible factor-1a and a phosphate cement scaffold," is now available. "Tissue engineering combined with gene therapy represents a promising approach for bone regeneration. The Hypoxia-inducible factor-1a (HIF-1a) gene is a pivotal regulator of vascular reactivity and angiogenesis," investigators in Shanghai, People's Republic of China report.
