Studies Highlight Nuvilex Cell-In-A-Box(R) Technology Enhances Chemotherapy Effectiveness

2012 MAR 29 -- Nuvilex, Inc. (OTCQB:NVLX), an emerging biotechnology provider of cell and gene therapy solutions, today discussed the use of the proprietary Cell-in-a-Box® technology, being acquired from SG Austria, as an adjunct to chemotherapy across a spectrum of cancer treatments.

The Cell-in-a-Box® technology involves the encapsulation of cytochrome P450 expressing cells which are placed beside the target tumor. When the patient is injected with the nontoxic drug ifosfamide, the encapsulated cells transform this prodrug into its active, chemotherapeutic drug.
