Survey shows perception of diagnostics for family of patient with genetic cancer

Results of a new national e-survey of physicians revealed that more than half (62 percent) were aware that in vitro diagnostics (IVD) tests could be performed on first-line relatives of patients with genetic forms of cancer, while 38% were unaware of the procedures.

The majority (64%) were unacquainted with the tests to determine patients' predisposition to non-familial cancers.
