Studies from University of Nijmegen, Department of Neurology yield new data on autoimmune diseases

New research, 'Strong association between myotonic dystrophy type 2 and autoimmune diseases,' is the subject of a report. "Myotonic dystrophy type 2 (DM2) is a dominantly inherited multisystem disorder, characterised by progressive proximal weakness, myotonia, cataracts and cardiac conduction abnormalities. Our clinical impression of an association between DM2 and autoimmune diseases or autoantibody formation has not been published previously," investigators in Nijmegen, Netherlands report.
