Atherosclerosis is affected by decreased heat shock protein 27 HSP27

According to recent research from France published in the journal Arteriosclerosis Thrombosis and Vascular Biology, atherosclerosis is affected by decreased heat shock protein 27 (HSP27). "Because culprit atherosclerotic plaques contain proteases, we hypothesized that the diminished HSP27 released by atherosclerotic plaques could be due to proteolysis.
